Create Your Help Pages

UniHelp can display HTML files, ASCII Text Files and various image and multimedia file formats (please see the Images page and Multimedia page for details). HTML pages are required to have either an ".html or ".htm" file extension. ASCII Text pages are required to have a ".txt" file extension. Images and Multimedia files are also required to include their respective file extensions in their filenames. UniHelp uses the file extensions to determine what kind of file it is and how to display it, but HTML and Text file extensions are NOT displayed in the Contents listbox.

Place all of your help pages within a central help folder and name it something simple like "Help". This is the folder that you will include in the same directory as your compiled application so that UniHelp can find it.

Within your central help folder, you can organize your files into groups/categories by placing them in sub-folders. Any sub-folders located within the central help folder are displayed in UniHelp's Contents listbox as expandable book icons. HTML and Text files are represented with page icons, images are represented with image icons, video files are represented with video icons, and audio files are represented with audio icons.

If you wish to HIDE your images and multimedia files from the Contents listbox and only have them accessible through IMG tags and Relative Links, then create a new sub-folder in your central help folder and call it either "images" or "media". Both of these folder names will remain invisible to UniHelp's Contents listbox, but can be accessed via IMG tags and Relative Links.
